Chex Systems, Inc. (ChexSystems) is a nationwide specialty consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). ChexSystems' clients regularly contribute information on closed checking and savings accounts. ChexSystems provides services to financial institutions and other types of companies that have a permissible purpose under the FCRA. ChexSystems' services primarily assist clients in assessing the risk of opening new accounts.

ChexSystems is aware of entities who imply they are associated with ChexSystems and charge consumers a fee to have information removed from their files, to have information investigated, to obtain a copy of their consumer disclosure report, or who attempt to collect monies from the consumer. ChexSystems has no relationship or affiliation with those entities. ChexSystems is not a collection agency and will not ask a consumer to make a payment.
